Larger dogs can tip the feeder over causing it to malfunction or spill the food- the similar is true for aggressive power chewers that could be prompted to try and destroy the device they realize is holding their dinner.Automatic pet feeders are not flawless- sometimes they malfunction or their power source does, and your pet can be left hungry for too long.Keeping food in an automatic feeder, as well as the fact that the meal is dispensed at a particular time rather than laying out in the bowl for the whole day, keeps insects and rodents away from your dog’s chow.Usually, automatic feeders for dogs have a decent storage capacity so you won’t have to constantly pour kibble into it or worry about food’s freshness.Automatic feeders for dogs, especially those designed for multiple-pet households, can be an excellent way to make sure your pets are not stealing each other’s food when you’re not around and can help you ensure each dog is sticking to their particular diet. When you work long hours or need to go on a short overnight trip, an automatic feeder that can be pre-programmed will make sure your pet’s meal is served at the time when they expect it to.Automatic pet feeders can be a good choice for dogs that need to lose weight as you can closely control the amount of food they eat as well as schedule multiple smaller meals to prevent overeating.Another pawesome feature is the option to record messages for your pet that would play when it’s meal time to encourage them to come and eat! Qpets AF 200 Advanced Programmable Pet Feeder runs on electricity or on 4 D size batteries which provide up to 6 months of uninterrupted work- this is also a great backup option to have in case of a power outage! Suited for small and big pieces of kibble, this programmable pet feeder can be used for petite pooches and large breed dogs both. To boot, you can also schedule it to dispense meals every day or only on specific days, for instance when you know you’ll stay late in the office. It can hold up to 10lbs of and can be set to dispense anywhere from from 1/4 cup to 5 cups at pre-programmed intervals (you can schedule up to 4 meals a day). Designed to give you all the fancy options without the hassle of using an app or needing Bluetooth or Wifi to program the meal time, this vertically-fed feeder also boasts a large capacity. This course is AMAZING! It covers topics and techniques from basic concepts all the way to advanced features and will give you all the information, step by step, on how Keyboard Maestro can be used with Finale. To make Keyboard Maestro more approachable and applicable, the amazing FinaleSuperuser channel on YouTube has made a free course on how to integrate Keyboard Maestro and Finale. However, there are so many additional options and functions you can unlock with Keyboard Maestro (or other tools mentioned in this blog like JetStream for Finale, or our Tech, Tools and Tips posts). For those of us in the music notation world, it can be a useful alternative to either FinaleScript (for Finale) or anything to reassign hot keys in Mac OS for the specific program you are using ( check out my blog post here about this very topic).Īs with all new software or these kinds of “power-user” tools, the learning curve can be a bit steep and off-putting for new users or those who just don’t want to invest that much effort to “re-invent the wheel.” You can stay only in the specific workflows built into your favorite notation program and be fine. This is an unbelievably powerful program that can help automate so many tasks and functions in all sorts of programs. One of the tools I’ve mentioned before is Keyboard Maestro (exclusively for Mac, sorry PC folks). Yes, strange as that may sound, finding new tools and developing new skills to complete the basic tasks we all have as engravers is a very satisfying part of the job. As you’ve read in previous blogs here at Engraver’s Mark Music, I’m a big fan of programs and useful tools that make our jobs as music engravers easier and more fulfilling. The game mechanics consist of three minigames: casting the fishing line, catching fish, and shooting the fish in the air. The player fishes in pursuit of fame as a fisherman named Billy. A 3D remaster of the game developed by KO_OP, titled Ridiculous Fishing EX, was released on Apple Arcade in July 2023, 3 years after Vlambeer went defunct. Reviewers noted Vlambeer's struggle against the copy of their game and praised the game's balance and both visual and game design. It won an Apple's 2013 Design Award and was their iPhone game of the year. Ridiculous Fishing received "near-universal perfect scores" at launch -what review score aggregator Metacritic describes as "universal acclaim". Artist Greg Wohlwend moved in with iOS developer Zach Gage to work 14-hour days on the game. The team worked on other games and spoke publicly about the situation to a standing ovation at the 2012 Game Developers Conference before resolving to scrap the majority of their work and finish the game. A year after Vlambeer began their iOS development, Gamenauts released Ninja Fishing, a clone of the game. The game was first released as a Flash game Radical Fishing with the same basic mechanics. Players then touch the screen to shoot fish out of the sky for money that can be spent on upgrades. Players cast a fishing line into the ocean and use motion controls to avoid fish as the hook sinks and to catch as many fish as possible as the reel retracts. The game was released for iOS on March 13, 2013, then later that year for Android. In the game, players use motion and touch controls to catch fish and subsequently shoot them out of the sky for cash. Watch your game end in a point-boosting, mind-blowing blast of visual fun with Finishers! The controls respond well and it's easy to start racking up points. Movements are somewhat different but just as simple to control. TETRIS® Blitz works in much the same way, though there are some options such as a swipe or a tap, that give the old game a new feel. If you've played TETRIS® before, you know how TETRIS® Blitz works: slot falling pieces into each other to form solid lines before the screen fills up. In addition to the usual elements of TETRIS®, the game incorporates surprises like explosives and waterfalls and lets you earn double points when you trigger the elusive frenzy mode. What else? This time, you race against the clock in a two-minute blitz, before time runs out. Your goal in TETRIS® Blitz is to get the maximum number of points by placing the pieces into the right slots. It's also a nice way to pay homage to Poe's work in the Netflix series The Fall of the House of Usher.Noun The White House chief usher, as director of the executive residence, handles hiring for the office, in consultation with the curator, first lady and her staff. The way Roderick is haunted by Lenore's death is similar to the main character in "The Raven" who's mourning their love. Unfortunately, the fact that she is an Usher means that her life cannot be spared. Lenore gets a much more peaceful death than her relatives, which also fits well with her name. The name Lenore has been interpreted as meaning " shining light," which fits Lenore's character well, as she's the only decent member of the main family in The Fall of the House of Usher. Lenore is based on the character from the Edgar Allen Poe poem "The Raven." In the story, the main character is visited by a raven while mourning the death of his love, Lenore. Roderick even feels that Lenore shares positive qualities with his first wife, Annabel Lee. Lenore is different from the rest of the characters in The Fall of the House of Usher, as she is relatively innocent and doesn't deserve to die. She's actually Frederick's daughter, making her Roderick's granddaughter. From the youngest kid to all of Roderick illegitimate children, every character has a deeper meaning behind their name. This is a pretty clever way of honoring Poe and fans of his work in Netflix's The Fall of the House of Usher. And although not every character faces a fate similar to their on-page counterpart, some of them do. In fact, all the names come from Poe's stories and poems. Their deaths are even connected to the meanings behind their names.Ĭharacters in a show based on Poe's work certainly couldn't have ordinary names, and The Fall of the House of Usher ensures they don't. The characters in the show are spoiled and entitled, but they all get their comeuppance by The Fall of the House of Usher's ending. Since the Netflix show is based on Edgar Allen Poe's story of the same name, it's no surprise there are dark twists throughout its eight episodes. Roderick Usher has six children who are dead by the end of The Fall of the House of Usher, and all of them have significant names. Each had a perfectly working arcade control set-up for the console controllers. Don't forget you will have the target lock ability too.Īll that said, not long ago Gaijin had IL-2 Sturmovik BoP on playstaion 3 and X-box. But it allows pretty decent control from a DS4 and minimizes the mouse aim advantage. You do however have to think ahead as, just like the mouse aimers, you are not controlling the plane, just where the nose will eventually point. What you get is a stable flight platform that you can do most ACM's with. You can then turn all instructor aids off in the settings. You can then flip the up and down (on screen) control of the big guider circle so if you pull down on the stick it goes up. You can compromise between control methods by using the mouse aim settings with a DS4 controller. Go find a PS4, game on it until you reach level 88 and then come offer some advice or argument, if you haven't been institutionalized. I have yet to see an actual contribution from one of you regarding the console experience. You guys have no idea of what you speak, yet you find it somehow necessary to engage or even argue with us. It seems like a simple thing to even fix one complaint on the ever growing PS4 list, but alas, nothing yet.Īnd I really do weary of all the arrogant typists who find it incumbent upon themselves to constantly opine in the PS4 section of the forums. If anyone of the devs would game on the PS4 with the intended DS4 as gaming device, I think they would be shocked and ashamed of what they have done to this community. My son and I have run a multitude of tests on his uber-powerful gaming pc and both our PS4s over time beginning at cross play, and we have both noticed an ever widening disparity between the two platforms with each succeeding patch. We are not even close to a level playing field. Max, I don't think Gaijin will ever reverse cross play, but I feel your pain. Now I can understand why I keep getting my ass whipped by PC players every game and I strongly believe that Gaijin should now introduce a PS4 only option for us PS4 players who would prefer to play against other players on a level playing field not have to play against PC players with a gimped control set up just because we choose and prefer to use the DS4. There is no 'wobble' when flying the plane and the handling is totally smooth and feels weightless in total contrast to using the DS4 where there always seems to be a resistance and a sluggish controller input in maneouvring.the planes making turns and loops basically any maneouvre alot slower using the DS4. Using a m+k is so much more responsive than using the DS4. Out of curiosity I decided to hook up a mouse and keyboard to my PS4 and try out this control method using mouse aim to see how it differs from using the DS4 with realistic control set up and it has certainly been a revelation! Since crossplay its been obvious that we are at a disadvantage using the DS4 but I didnt know the full extent of this handicap until using a m+k. Time passed, Telemachus grew up, and Anticleia died. Odysseus tried to feign madness to get out of his obligation, but he was caught in the end. They came to search for Odysseus, who had sworn an oath to Menelaus to protect his rights to Helen. Menelaus and several other men intended to lay siege to Troy in response. Penelope's only comfort was the birth of her son, Telemachus, and her love for Odysseus.Įventually, Odysseus received word that Penelope’s cousin Helen, whom Penelope despised, had left her husband Menelaus for a Trojan prince named Paris. Penelope had no friends her own age or status. Although Penelope quickly came to love Odysseus, she did not get along with her mother in law, Anticleia, and found Odysseus's former nurse, Eurycleia, to be very condescending. The sea journey was rough for Penelope, and once they landed things weren't much better. The Maids comment on the section with envy, since they are not allowed to marry.Ĭontrary to custom, Odysseus took his bride back to his home on the island of Ithaca. Odysseus won the race (supposedly by cheating) and married Penelope that day. Penelope next describes the contest for her hand in marriage, a running race, when she was fifteen. In the Maids’ commentary on Penelopes’ childhood, they compare their own lineage, contrasting their slave and peasant parents with Penelope’s royal ones. Her mother, meanwhile, was neglectful and cold. According to stories Penelope heard growing up, Icarius tried to kill Penelope in infancy by throwing her into the sea, but Penelope was saved by a flock of ducks. Penelope begins her account with her childhood, stating that she was born in Sparta to King Icarius and a Naiad mother. The Maids, meanwhile, introduce themselves through a song that accuses Odysseus of killing them. Penelope's account begins with her deciding from the afterlife to tell her side of the famous story of her marriage to Odysseus after thousands of years. Penelope's first person narrative is a mostly chronological account starting at her birth, while the Maids provide commentary on her narrative. The story is told in retrospect, with Penelope and the Maids in the afterlife reflecting on the events that occurred centuries before. Margaret Atwood's The Penelopiad retells the story of the Odyssey from the perspective of Penelope and her Twelve Maids. |
